The battle is NOT broken from Heaven and violence results in violence ...

Both of these phrases are rooted in our collective mind and recognized as valid by the great mass of the population, although their message is blatantly contradictory, beating being a serious form of violence and Heaven, first of all, meaning love, harmony, peace.

Both of these phrases are rooted in our collective mind and recognized as valid by the great mass of the population, although their message is blatantly contradictory, beating being a serious form of violence and Heaven, first of all, meaning love, harmony, peace.
How can this be? Simple: working with two measures, one for adults, one for children. In other words, beating, violence are unacceptable among adults, but usually if they are directed against children, because they MUST BE DISCIPLINED, made to listen, kept in their grip not to get upset and, anyway, what can they do, how to oppose, how to defend yourself?

A law for children

Since 2004, at the Save the Children initiative, Romania has a legal framework through which children are protected from ANY form of violence and humiliating treatment (Article 90 of Law 272/2004).

Only, as in other countries in the world where such provisions exist, the mere existence of laws that protect the child from violence does NOT change attitudes and mentalities rooted for generations and does not enable parents to use other methods of education. of children.
That is why the Save the Children Romania Organization is with parents informing them and preparing them by offering educational alternatives for establishing a new type of relationship with the child, based on mutual respect.
Approaching the child as a person with equal rights, with the ability to have opinions and to express them is the safest way to the optimal, plenary development of the child, physically, mentally, emotionally.
At the same time, it is also the most difficult and long-term approach because the fight against beliefs and habits with which the parents themselves grew up and which became second nature to them.
An empathic understanding of the physical and psychological punishments applied to children is the first important step in eradicating these practices.
If parents (and all those who work with children) do not feel the problem - by understanding the consequences and knowing the pain caused by any form of violence - they will not be able to remove it from their personal life and cannot act against it in their professional life. The change of social attitudes occurs on a personal level.
The program carried out by the Save the Children Organization in the non-violent education of the child is based on recent research and strategies developed by renowned specialists from Romania and around the world, including courses, information, lectures, articles, counseling, information materials (brochures, guides, manuals, etc.). .), public debates.
